Batch Number vs Package ID

• Batch number (Lot/Batch ID): Identifies the production batch — a group of products manufactured together under the same conditions and tested as a single unit.
• Package ID (Metrc tag / UID): A unique identifier assigned to a specific package in the state's cannabis tracking system (e.g., Metrc). It is more granular than the batch number.

Why It Matters

Matching a batch number to a COA lets you verify that the specific batch you purchased has been independently lab-tested. If a product is recalled or flagged, batch numbers help you determine whether your product is affected.
